At the University’s Halls of Residence, guests must be students unless otherwise authorized by the Accommodation Team. Students who allow non-students into their rooms risk breaching their student contract and could face being evicted from the building. It is also their responsibility to ensure their guests abide by all university rules and regulations; inviting non-students could even violate fire safety laws!

If you are considering living in a hall of residence, be sure to read its terms and conditions closely before agreeing to them. Any serious misconduct or disruption could result in you being excluded from the property and complying with university fire regulations.

If you plan to invite friends or family members over for a visit, it is essential that you notify the Student Accommodation team in advance. You can do this either via the ‘Request a Guest Visit’ button on your accommodation portal or calling them directly. It is imperative that all guests visiting your room be recorded, as failing to do so could result in disciplinary action being taken against you. Guests cannot stay more than two weeks at a time and must vacate by 10 AM on their day of departure – key must also be returned back to them along with keys from Student Accommodation team upon their exit!
